Off-Loom Bead Weaving Basics A Series of 6 Weekly Classes
|
When: Wednesdays, beginning April 4, 2007, from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM
Where: Old Court House Arts Center, 101 N. Johnson, on the Woodstock Square
2nd Floor teaching space
Cost: $150 per person for the 6-session series
Minimum: 3 Participants Maximum: 8 Participants
The workshops will focus on learning both jewelry-making basics and some of the most
popular bead weaving stitches. You'll be learning individual stitch techniques and will be
working on samples in class, rather than finished, wearable projects. The goal is to provide
each participant with a solid understanding of how each stitch is constructed, along with
some variations, that can then be used to create your own original wearable art.
The workshops will be fun and fast-paced! Bring your enthusiasm, a sense of adventure, and
any bead jewelry ideas you've been thinking about. Oh!, and bring your reading glasses or a
magnifier if you're far-sighted! Those seed beads can be pretty tiny!
Please note the supplies to bring for the first session. Sources for other supplies
needed for later sessions will be discussed in class.
